Identify other e-zines whose readership matches your target market. Search the the Web to find other ezines that accept advertising and learn what their rates are. Run at least three ads in a row, preferably five to seven, to get an accurate representation of how the ad pulls. Use an ad-tracking program to determine how many clicks each ad is getting.
